Australian Native Landscapes (ANL), one of New South Wales’ leaders in landscaping and gardening supply, recently found themselves stumped when they couldn’t fill two apprenticeship positions with strong candidates.

L-R: Jason White – ANL Operations Manager, Corey Speechley – ANL apprentice, Anna Millar – ANL apprentice, Clint Coghlan – MEGT Customer Service Officer – Field.
Approaching MEGT’s Orange office for assistance, ANL’s Jason White was encouraged to advertise the positions on the MEGT Gateway Services Career Hub. Quickly attracting 17 strong applicants, Jason sat down to interview seven, one of whom was Anna Millar.
Anna has joined Jason’s team in the traditionally male-dominated trade, to complete a qualification in Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. With the ongoing need for male-dominated industries to diversify their workplaces, the team at Orange were pleased to facilitate this achievement for ANL.
Corey Speechley filled ANL’s second position, signing on as an automotive apprentice while undertaking a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology.
Meeting with Anna and Corey, the team at Orange identified the pair as eligible for the Living Away from Home Allowance, which will ease financial burden while they complete their apprenticeships.
Congratulations to ANL for signing up the new starters – we’re sure Anna and Corey will blossom in their apprenticeships!
