On Tuesday 24 November, MEGT held its annual graduation night at Karralyka, Ringwood. Each year, graduation is held to recognise the hard work and dedication of our MEGT Institute students who are undertaking training at the Trade Skills Centre in Ringwood.
The night also acknowledges our apprentices and trainees employed through MEGT’s Recruitment Management Services, as well as the contributions and support our host employers offer them as they work towards their qualifications.
We are proud of all our graduates and award winners and today we celebrate the 2015 MEGT Victorian Host Employer of the Year:
Barwon Health
Barwon Health is a Victorian based healthcare provider that is utilising MEGT to build a tailored recruitment and management program for its trainees.
The program is specifically aimed at offering employment support to disadvantaged youth in the Geelong region of Victoria and is already making a huge difference in the local area.
Local not-for-profit organisation Northern Futures has collaborated with Barwon Health to specifically identify disadvantaged job seekers in the region. When these job seekers are discovered, Northern Futures provide them with pre-employment training and development to ensure they are ready to successfully enter the workforce and begin their careers.
These candidates are then connected with the MEGT and Barwon Health recruitment program, providing an opportunity for graduates to become long-term leaders and managers within the organisation. The program has already produced a hugely successful completion rate of above 92% and we are pleased to congratulate Barwon Health on being named MEGT 2015 Victorian Host Employer of the Year.
