Industry Skills Fund offers funding boost for employers

Australian businesses can now get their new, young staff job fit and work ready with the Industry Skills Fund Training for Employment Scholarships program.

Businesses with less than 200 employees who have hired an unemployed person aged 18 to 24 years within the last three months as an apprentice or trainee may be eligible for funding of up to $7500 for the cost of up to 26 weeks job specific training.

This funding may also be extended to training outside of the scope of the apprenticeship such as seminars, licences and tickets or training to improve skills such as reading, writing, numeracy or computer literacy.

Applications for funding close 30 June 2016.
