
Young Australians who remain in a job and off welfare payments for 12 months or more may be eligible for up to $6500 in incentive payments under the Australian Government’s Job Commitment Bonus scheme.
Under the scheme, eligible young Australians aged 18 to 30 who have been on Newstart Allowance or Youth Allowance (as a job seeker) for 12 months or more will receive a payment of $2500 if they find employment and remain completely off welfare payments for a continuous 12 month period.

A further payment of $4000 is available to eligible workers if they remain in a job and off welfare for a continuous 24 month period.
The Department of Human Services will pay the Job Commitment Bonus at the end of the 12 and 24 month periods upon confirmation that work has been ongoing and no income support has been received.
