Geelong locals will soon benefit from new Skills and Jobs Centres opening in the area.
To be run by The Gordon, the two hubs will be a one-stop-shop for students wishing to start training, job seekers needing support with training and work placement, as well as linking job seekers with potential employers.
The first centre will be located temporarily at Westfield Geelong, before moving permanently to the State Government Building on Little Malop Street in February 2016. A second centre located in Werribee will open in December 2015.
Minister for Training and Skills Steve Herbert recently visited Geelong to announce the $1 million initiative to support the new Skills and Jobs Centres.
“This funding will help ensure everyone has quality access to training so they can get off the treadmill of unemployment and onto the footpath of success,” stated Mr Herbert.
